UK:RESISTANCE 'main page'
The undeniable truth of PS3's failing in the UK has been revealed, thanks to a photograph of an in-store Currys staff bulletin screen.

Currys, the high street chain stupid people use to pay more for electronics than they cost on the internet or anywhere else, has not hit its PS3 pre-order targets. Look - even people on the internet can't argue with an actual photograph:

CURRYS - Losing money thanks to Sony's inept schemes

Good news about the HDMI cables, though. That'll really make up the massive financial shortfall Sony's dead-on-arrival PS3 is inflicting on businesses across the land.

Why pay for Home when you can get it for free. Download it at : www.secondlife.com

Home is free. Besides Second Life is shit, really shit. Even worse then a PS3.

You know what's even better? Not getting either.

Gawd bless Currys, the shorter Belkin cable is £45 and the longer one is £25. Shafting people day by day.

Or you can get one just as good from cpc for a tenner.

Verification word xagwsm - sounds like a generic viagra copy.

The screen mentions "a few weeks to go".

Doesn't this imply that this picture is old, and therefore not proper evidence?

Come on Zorg, there must be some GAME insiders you can get photos of current pre-order lists from!
Blogger phorenzik said...
Yeah, but the bit at the bottom mentions a Vista deal that ends on the 15/03/07 so it can't be that old.

Sega are now Sony collaborators

Just read that HMV have supposedly cancelled their PS3 midnight opening over safety concerns.

I expect Zorg to do update about it being cancelled because it's wank within the hour.

Come on, you owe it to us all.
No you're wrong. HMV didn't cancel the Oxford Street launch because of security concerns at all.

The quote that I saw on gamesindustry.biz was "Previously we've held very successful midnight events for the Wii and World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. We felt that unless we could do a midnight launch as spectacular as those, we'd rather not do it at all."

Which pretty much translates to "no-one's going to turn up, so why the fuck should we turn up to work at midnight?!?"

word verification = oihyoraw - the noise made by Ken Kutaragi when he sees the first months PS3 sales results for Europe

"However, HMV is also hoping that by opening at 7.30am it will be able to take advantage of passing commuter traffic and attract more impulse buyers into the store."

Couldn't get rid of all the stock though the preorder period then.

Not that that's a suprise to us, but it might as well be an admission from them.

The same article goes on to say HMV are going to open early in the morning with a bigger chance of getting "more impulse buyers into the store" Impulse £425! a bar of chocolate for £0.35 is an impulse buy, a magazine at £5, A cd for a £10, shirt for £45, Nintendo DS £95, your missus getting some jeans £145 Buying a Wii £180 could be considered an impulse purchase but a £425 F**king George Forman grill is not an impulse purchase my friend.

I need to get a job in bullshitting sorry i mean advertising

"please sell with confidence"! Isn't that what con-men do?

It says this Thursday, March 15th on the Windows Vista piece in the screen, so it can't be more than a week old.

Good news, both Sony and Curry's getting fucked over.

Wahey!!!

yay i'm half famous. That update came out last thursday i think, i remember reading it when i was in work. "sell with confidence" my arse, i tell people to buy those sensi soccer/cannon fodder megadrive pad plugin tv things instead :P Please please please, do all you can to put currys out of business, it will give me an excuse to find another job, and will make me laugh a bit.

I can smell victory in the air, if even the mighty Currys cannot sell their preorders, and HMV cannot be asked to open for such a grand european unveiling of the super ps3, the victory is surly ours. Also most probably people aren't that bothered about spending 425 on a bunch of either shit or ex-360 games.

Are you aware that sony are answering questions on slashdot (allegedly) about the ps3? Or did you already post most of them

HMV in Manchester have given up! They're now saying "come along at Midnight and buy it - we've got shitloads!"

From the MEN today:

John Jones from Gamestation said: "Anyone who thinks they can just turn up and get one has got no chance."

This makes me feel like turning up at 4:55pm on Friday afternoon and demanding John Jones personally sells me one. Except not, because I don't have £425 or want a PS3.

I work at one of the four Manchester Game stores, and we already know we'll have spare stock this Friday. Come along at 5.00pm that day and you'll get one, no probs.
