UK:RESISTANCE 'main page'
Any game that's sold more than 20 gets put in a shit-looking box so it can sell another five. This will shave another £50 off that $3.3 billion, returning Sony's games department to profitability by the year 17998.

Solid plastic HITS

"Now, they've either forgotten what colour platinum is, or they've decided that they've tried their hardest to convince people not to buy the console, so now it's time to convince people not to buy the games as well by making them as fucking hideous as possible. Cheers! Larry."

Gone triple-aluminium in Benelux regions

Ratchet & Clank? What definition is Sony using for these "platinum" re-releases nowadays? This spent 10 minutes in the chart, thanks to an old woman accidentally buying it for her grandson's birthday. He only had a PS2 so it was swapped four days later for one of the Need for Speeds.

However these are all games that only "scratch" the surface of the PS3's power. So I guess we will see MGS in a yellow box soon as well.

Battlefield Bad Company = 1.6 million copies
MGS4 = 1.3 million copies

Yay, I got a credit :D

Coming from someone who used to design game packaging for a living, and ingame art too (Most famous title I did is probably "Oni" for Bungie/Rockstar Games (I do manga/anime art freelance)) The boxes have no design thought put into them whatsoever.

What's the matter, Zrog, have you not seen the news to end all news?

Nice to see that Sony have resorted to using MS Paint to design their game packaging.

Sony obviously thinks radioactive sells. The hideous radiation poisoning death probably appeals to PS3 owners.

I dunno. Why don't they just get out the shrink wrap and start selling them three at a time.

Wait a Minute. Guru Larry did the artwork for Oni?

You screwed up the gun in her hand mate. She never had a gun like that IN GAME. That always bothered me.

Good artwork though.

Goddamn!!! the USA platinum edition boxes look so much better... why they give yall the ugly caution tape versions????

Also I can just feel the SONY hate when i come to this blog. The reason why I keep coming back is the psychotic love of SEGA. And our combined faith that they will come back one day when they get their act together and make a Sega Master System II, Saturn II, DreamCast II...

Because they're shit you should avoid. At least Sony is being honest for a change.

There already is a MASTER SYSTEM 2!

I could take the shit box, but the thing I always hated about (all three generations of) the PlayStation's Platinum range was that they always ditched the disc art, and you get something which looks scarcely more professional then a rather blank and featureless looking CD-R. Nintendo and Microsoft's budget ranges at least keep the disc art.
