PS3's EBAY HELL CONTINUES!
THIS IS JUSTICE!

This is the second happiest two days of our lives, just behind the weekend of June 21-22, 1986 - the weekend we discovered wanking.
AND THERE'S THIS:
Dear UKR,
Ebay changed its fees last month for the videogames category. It lowered the price of listing items to about 10p. However, it now takes more in commission off the backend. A whole nine percent! This means that any PS3 needs to sell for more than 463 pounds to break even - and more than that if they buyer pays by Paypal.
I imagine many of the scalpers will look at the ending value and figure they have made some profit - before the sting in the tail next month when the Ebay bill arrives.

Ouch. That commission is really a killer!
I put a cheeky low bid on one...
Haha
Watch out Zorg, Sony now know you postcode!
Judging by all those auctions, the cunts are clearly trying to claw something back on the shipping.
The company I use daily for shipping costs a maximum of £7.95 for next day delivery to any destination in the UK up to a weight limit of 20kg, so I'd love to hear their excuse for putting 30 fucking quid.
It's OK. That's an old work post code. Nothing left in that building but stained carpets.

Hopefully these are the same cunts that made all that money on holding the Wiis to ransom...
"THIS IS JUSTICE!"
This... is... SPARTAAAAAA!
xD Couldn't resist, and excuse me while I go wank to this most excellent of news.
Sorry but whoever wrote in with that is wrong - the 9% final value fee is only on the videogames (GAMES) category.
A PS3 correctly listed in the videogames (HARDWARE) category will only attract standard fees, and not the 9% you mistakenly quote!
Just thought I'd set you straight on that one !!
oooohhhh! FACE!!!

people put giant postage costs because ebay don't charge % on the postage, only the sale cost.
eBay charge nine percent videogames? Nine? The fuck?
I think we should extend this 'war' of ours to include companies who are unprincipled moneygrubbers, i.e. all of them.
abhory - Short but highly alarming bedtime story for children of people you don't like.
Never let the facts get in the way of giving Sony a good kicking James.
"people put giant postage costs because ebay don't charge % on the postage, only the sale cost."
Wow. The things you learn here on UK:R
21st June 1986, my 15 birthday, only another 10 yrs until I lost my virginity to an alive woman
ddulax - a colourful laxative?
Online retailer dvd.co.uk has already cut the price of the PS3:
http://www.dvd.co.uk/product_PSP360GB.asp
£409 delivered.
This is worrying for a console to get price cuts so close to its launch.
The Swedish eBay affiliate tradera.com is looking much like eBay.co.uk on the PS3 field right now, including some guy buying five PS3 and putting them up for sale 100 euro above retail, thinking he'll make big money on them.
There's also quite a few auctions of unopened European PS3s for over 100 euro belowretail, that have been up for days, without receiving any bids at all, not even when the buy-out price is 100 below.
And then, because it isn't big scary eBay, Sony made them take down auctions of US PS3 consoles. So it's business as usual. Keep up the good work UKR.
The 9% stuff is wrong. I looked up current fees of ebay and paypal and I calculate that someone needs to sell a PS2 bought for £425 for £453.68 to break even. Assuming they simply charge exactly what it costs them for postage.
Even funnier is searching for completed listings only on ebay (you have to be logged in) - lots of failed £600 auctions, and a lot of PS3s going with free games for £400. Oops
