UK:RESISTANCE 'main page'
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful! Moron pre-orders PlayStation3, then sells it on Ebay for less than he paid for it. Other UK auctions are currently floudering, too. Genius. Global justice. WELL DONE, BRAVE PEOPLE OF GREAT BRITAIN. THE END IS NIGH. THE END IS NIGH!

We can't wait to read the Sony press release on Monday morning. It had better include a full and frank apology for the global disgrace that is Sony's current hardware scheme.

PS3 Ebay JUSTICE!

This is the update we've been waiting to write for 18 months - AND IT FEELS GOOD. For once, our tears are of joy.

fantsatic - this is what we need! anyone see the sony guys premptive excuses on eurogamer? its so bad its brilliant!

"Sony boss David Reeves says that if you can walk into a shop on Friday and buy a PlayStation 3 without a pre-order, that'll mean the company got the launch right.

Reeves, who is president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, told the news agency that the delay between the console's Japanese and North American launches last November and its arrival in Europe this Friday has been of great benefit in reaching the goal of shipping one million units of hardware for day one.

"It's rather like taking a bottle of soda water and we've shaken it so hard over the last six months that when we take the cork off, it's just going to explode," he explained (probably waving his arms around expressively). "I think that's a better way of looking at it than to say the delay is disappointing. It's not - it's really been beneficial for us. We're going to get it right."

so there you go! delays are prefferable, and non-sell outs are the best thing to happen if youre in the retail business. unbelievable...........

just search ebay.co.uk for "playstation 3"

pages and pages of console ransom vermin being shafted...oh happy days :)

That guy lost 14% of his "investment".

I am still worried about loads of filthy chavs buying PS3's though :(.
Blogger disinformativ said...
What in the fuck were they thinking?

This is coming from someone who waited at the USA launch and sold my PS3 for 2400$. A nice return on investment I might add.

USA and Japanese consoles are region free. If someone from Europe really wanted one, they would imported it months ago.

In America, you were late to the Ebay ball game if you waited 2 - 3 weeks from launch. Trust me, I know because my friend had 3 and he only sold them for 900$ a piece because he waited. I made more profit on my 1 alone sold day-of-launch.

By Christmas time, the Ebay market had completely bottomed out, and they were selling for what they cost. There were even news stories run of the scalpers returning the machines to retail.

So now it's mid March I would say these guys are just a bit late to the Ebay game.

Only 72 left for pre-order at Newcastle Virgin Megastore.

I'll have to go into Hull tomorrow and see what the preorder situation's like - if even the chav capital of Britain has rejected the PS3, there's no way they're selling more than 10 of the things on Friday. The tiny Blockbuster around the corner from my house still has plenty left, at least.

there are even worse auctions too:

How much MS pay you for this stuff? I hope you're getting payed for it, otherwise thats just cripplingly sad.

You just know they're going to talk out of their arse about this one.

Sony boss David Reeves says that although barely anyone bought a PS3 except clueless fucking scutty chavs, the console launch was a resounding success.

Reeves, who is president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, told the news agency that all three of the new UK PS3 owners paid full money and didn't steal them off equally clueless fucking scutty chavs.

"It's like not having a wank since November, so when I do have a wank it literally goes all over the damn place. Well, that was the plan, but it seems a bit limp lately. Not that that's a bad thing!" he explained (probably spewing shit from his mouth). "I think that's a better way of looking at it than to say the delay is disappointing. It's not - it's really been beneficial for us, in a parallel universe. We're going to get it right. Perhaps."

Ace link. I have just checked her feedback and she has a score of -1. Apparently, it looks like she refused to sell the PS3 at that price so the winning bidder gave her negative feedback.

Actually Sony stopped pretty much anyone in Europe from importing a PS3 from the States. They had put enough legal pressure on lik-sang.com that the company actually closed down. Other great import sites that didn't wish to be on bad terms with Sony also cancelled all US pre-orders. We refer to this as "the scummiest move of all time".

The ebay republic are hoping to exploit the ignorance of the public who seem to think that there's high demand for PlayStation 3 but as you can see; they're morons.

If he put down a £50 deposit (non refundable), by selling it for £390, he's only lost £35 rather than the whole £50.

Which is a shame as he should be punished more for preordering the thing in the first place

I too was rendered handicapped by the sadness of this site and now require a rail next to my toilet and a nurse to yoink up my grundies. The orange badge in my car means I can drive drunk and just blame it on 'my spazziness'. I also get a grant from the government that I spend buying games for my Wii! THANK YOU UK:R!!

apparently some americunts who like shit music say this site spews nonsense. Lets hope they get cancer!
Blogger Halverde said...
I spoke to my mum last night, who told me she'd been planning to surprise with a PS3 (seemingly for no reason, strangely). She said that since everwhere still had them they can't have been good like the Wii, so she didn't bother. THE SYSTEM WORKS.
Blogger capt_jax said...
Well done to the "game retailer" who emailed the John Gaunt show on TalkSport today about how there are going to be thousands of PS3's available tomorrow and that anyone queing is an idiot.
I hope bobbie johnson is reading this.

hi bobby!

And of course, Ebay games now incur a 9% final fee, so if they don't sell for at least £460 the bandwaggon jumper will lose money.

Wonder how many pre orders on friday will be cancelled because there's no profit to be made?
Blogger MrJolly said...
Oh, and HMV, Currys and Whsmiths in that chav infested rat hole known as Aylesbury will all have ps3s on the shelf ready for purchase.

Probably have a lot more when all the chancers get their deposits back.
Blogger Nigel Tufnel said...
Funny thing is, the winner could just return the console the next day and get the difference as profit. So therefore fucking Game AND Sony over, as well as being able to spend the money on a 360 game. It's a win/win situation.

Nice comment on Digital Spy's games forum about UK:R

"That site is full of sick nonsense making fun of rape etc . Some of these pro ms and nintendo people need to get a grip its just a games machine . I know somebody whos life was ruined by rape they should shut that site down and anybody linking to it should be banned from here ."

Mate of mine works in Virgin. He told me that of their 8000 PS3 allocation, less than 4000 have been pre-ordered. This last 10 days he told me that the ever-increasing snowball of customers cancelling their previously eBay-bound consoles has been staggering.
Blogger Nat said...
Check out this e-bayer with his multiple pre-orders. Think he'll honour this sale?

Well Mr Domino, I'm from the 'Chav captial' as you call it, and from what I can see, all the major stores here still have PS3s for preorder and guaranteed launch day delivery. HMV still has their LAST CHANCE TO ORDER NOW sign outside too.

Christ - I nearly ran my car off the A46 laughing so hard at Newsbeat on Radio One on the way home from work. I hope it's available on their site as a fucking podcast as their report from London's PS3 launch venue was full of great comedic moments. I loved the guy, possibly called Colin, who was already in the queue for his overpriced turdbox because it had 'all the best technology' and 'the Blu-Ray function'... christ man - go and buy Asimo if you want technology and buy a concole for the bloody games. The news reporter (who probably wears those thick rimmed square specs that all cunts prefer these days) went on to say that buying a PS3 allowed you to store all your music, photos and videos on its hard drive. I would call Trading Standards but I'm too busy backing up 2.2TB of stuff I've 'borrowed' from other people over the years....
Blogger disinformativ said...
Ok can someone explain something to this clueless American.

Why does the machine cost equivalent to 800$ in Europe but only 600$ in the United States?

Is Sony raping Europe or are the prices the same after inflation or something?

I should have payed attention in economics...
Blogger Saphion said...
It's because Sony are cunts.

That's about it, really.

Another sign of excess PS3 stock, a number of mobile phone dealers including The Link http://www.thelink.com/
are giving away PS3s if you sign up to a new mobile contract.

So what is happening in England? The 12 o'clock launch has happened, but no response yet to the event!
Blogger John said...
Acording to Gamespot at the largest UK launch (Virgin Megastore) they said there are 650 PS3's available and 200 people have turned up :)
Blogger sjmleicester said...
Well the first 100 customers to buy a PS3 from Virgin Mega Store at midnight have also been given a 46" Sony Bravia HD TV and a free taxi home. Not bad if you ask me. Sony doing some good PR for a change.

I do feel sorry for the person that was 101st in the queue though. Apparently about 200 people turned up which must be slightly disappointing for all those concerned.
Blogger Drew said...
Only 200 people? You're... you're serious?

Oh my God.
Blogger GeorgeyPeorgey said...
As joyful as I find Sony's miserable and rapid relegation to third place in the console race, I must say: that 46"-Bravia-for-the-first-100-PS3-buying-cunts-at-Virgin is damn well exceptional. Kudos Sony, for once.
Blogger PeekyBoo said...
Virgin have obviously said to Sony, do something or we will never stock your consoles again!

Imagine having hordes of machines tht haven't sold. That's a killer for the accounting books and maybe mean a death knell for some businesses.

sony have had to sweeten the situation, in my opinion.
Blogger jamesjas said...
my two mates have bought 11 between then, and i am sorry but i hope they lose money! What ever happened to just working for your money, so sick of this "make quick money" bullshit.

Tickets and playstations, fucking band the load on ebay, hope everyone lose's money....oh wait...no.....cause they can't sell them for a profit, me thinks they will be ending the auction early! Sound fair?? Fuck no! Screw e-bay as well, once its on, it stays on!

Had my rant!! Any one agree?
