UK:RESISTANCE 'main page'
All we really want to do on the internet today is discuss the merits of 'Yes', the 10th studio album from the Pet Shop Boys, on pop music forums with other like-minded, discreet individuals.

So while we do that, here's a man's story about his word verification word.

"I've made the effort to take these photos and send them in, the least you could do is post this shit. It could start a whole new UK:R phenomenon. Or it could get a couple of comments."

"I had to walk out to my kitchen when I saw this. Because that's where my camera was. Inside my girlfriend's backpack after a recent trip out to a bird sanctuary island with her brother and his wife (thanks to Animal Crossing I now care about games and nature). I brought the camera back to the computer room, (through the lounge and short hallway) and took these three photos of a word verification I received on this very site. It's not the best one I've ever received but it is Sonic related, containing both Char and/or Rings depending on which way you choose to read it."

"This new fad of taking photos of Sonic-related word verifications may still in its infancy but I can say I was there on the ground floor. If you do post this then I will take a photo of the screen of that post and send that in as well. Then who knows where this thing could lead? I should explain that Char was the name of one of my Chao in Sonic Adventure 2 which make the word verification Charings all the more sonic related on a personal level for me. (You can use my name, I don't think anyone I know reads this site anyway)" - Glen.

'YES' ALBUM REVIEW
It's one of the most 'mixed bags' the Pet Shop Boys have produced. Standout tracks such as 'Vulnerable', 'Pandemonium' and 'Love Etc.' would be at home on any of the Boys' albums form the past 20 years, but dull, plodding tunes like 'All Over The World' and 'Building a Wall' should've been saved for one of the later discs of the post-humous box set, which we'd suggest could be entitled 'Predictably'.

The last track on the album 'Legacy' verges on the unlistenable, featuring poor Neil attempting to reach notes he's no chance of getting anywhere near without substantial digital enhancement during post production and the assistance of a voice double. After that, you're glad it's over and thankful your MP3 player loops back to Track One of Pop Art. Still, listening to 'Yes' is better than having to listen to new music by new bands and taking a chance in unfamiliar territory. 7/10.

Glen has got in on the ground floor of the new "still got a CRT monitor in a non-ironic way" craze.
And the "don't know how to do a screen capture" craze....

huh? i don't see any scanlines and if that's an aperture grill then i'm a woman.

needs more swirls on carpets. 2/10.

I want to see these pictures of the girlfriend, brother and wife at the "bird sanctuary". I'm confident the sanctuary will really turn out to be the nearest Travelodge.

I think we all agree that updates have gone completely south over the last couple of years, but this is the first one that wants to go west.

Thats two things I now know for sure that I've got in common with Zorg. Love for Sega and Pet Shop Boys. Oh the shame!!

Agreed. Also you can't hear half of tje lyrics and the phrasing in some songs is strained to buggery. DJB

Sega may have gone out of date, but Homosynth Pop never does. Mainly because both Pet Shop Boys are still alive and releasing things for people to buy despite 0 demand for them to keep doing so. West End Girls was good.

UK:Resistance does sound like a GLBT rights group... it's all been a ploy! Zorg initiated the site to lure spunky teens with attitude into the gay lifestyle by hopping on the 'cool' Sega bandwagon only for it to all go horribly wrong. Who could have predicted Sega would fail so spectacularly back in 1996?

To be spoken in a jaunty Sheffield accent: "Hey, do you *luv* Sega? Would you like to meet other like-minded men that appreciate Sonic the Hedgehog and midi music? Ever fantasised about bumping into Ax Battler while browsing Erasure CDs in Our Price? Then why not visit UK:Resistant for all the latest Sega news and get to know other boys like YOU."

Someone needs to show Glen how to use the "Print Screen" button on his keyboard.

Jesus fucking Christ. Hit "Prt Scr", the button between "F12" and "Scroll Lock". Open MS Paint then hit Ctrl-V. It's not that fucking hard.

Actually there's plenty of demand for more Pet Shop Boys, just not necessarily from the main stream who are more interested in the same hip-hop/r&b record over and over again.

You're dead wrong about Building a Wall, and you should get used to All over the world because it's most likely the next single :P

What about reviewing the new Lamb of God opus? It's a tad more spicy than the Pet Shop Boys!

I heard Sonic Team was making a Pet Shop Boys game with levels themed on their music videos over the years...

The Pet Shop Boys? Are you fucking serious? Here's a piece of advice: keep shit like that under your hat, and then bury your hat under a tonne of concrete in the middle of the Sahara desert.

'All over the world' is a great track, you're crazy Zorg!

The lowpoint is undoubtedly is the cringeworthy 'Building a Wall', especially the "Who do you think you are, Captain Britain?" bit.

Record is hit and miss to say the least. But still a million times better than the dark days of 'Release'.

If using print screen (PrtSc) is too difficult and to save yourself the trouble of getting the camera and walking through your house in the future I suggest the following.
Take you scanner, tilt it 90 degrees, hold against the screen and hit scan.

What's with the "Building a Wall" hate? It's a fine song. Yeah, it has a "plodding" beat driving the song, but there's a lot of nice textures spun around that simple beat. I think it'll grow on you eventually.
