Clearly Sony are still having problems remembering to test their software on all eleventy billion different hardware revisions of Krazy Ken's moonstruck folly.
Still, now people have an excuse to return their PS3s and use the refund money to buy a Dreamcast and some good games.
Waves... so... soothing...
I actually feel sorry for the sheep that bought a PS3 and are now having this problem.
You have to have some compassion for your enemy, while still laughing in their faces when something bad happens.

I don't remember my Dreamcast having any unnecessary 'firm wear' updates.
It was perfect when it came out of the factory
PS3 can only die when Valkyria Chronicles and the Yakuza series hit XBox360 or get here in Europe.
If Sony didn't had so much hardware junk behind them, PS3 would be down in the drain. Loser console, just like Dreamcast but at least that one had a giant library of good games.
Burn in hell Playstation, burn in hell. You, Nintendo and Microsoft. My hate is enough for you three.
Why is there a Wii on top of the PS3?
Hold on. What's this got to to with Sega?
Not a dreamcast logo in sight... tsk...
"Owners of PS3s in all shapes and sizes"?
What like fat, overweight, 30 somthing males, still living with Mum and Dad!
ycsjkxau: Exasperated noise a PS3 owner makes after another failed firmware f**k-up by Sony!
I still think this is Sony trying to rid the world of the older PS3 models.
They do seem to keep trying; GTA4 keeps freezing on the Emotion Engine builds, and now the pattern goes that this here 2.40 now kills XMB dead.
There are two solutions: buy a 40gb crappy cut-down model, or remove the hard disk, format it, lose ALL YOUR SHIT, and have it break again on the next update
Good for you Sony! At least you're trying...
I've had consoles do that to me before, but i had usually only paid a pound for them at a car boot sale.
These bedroom groupies don't know what they're missing..
Achievements, in-game friends lists and now self-destructing consoles. Sony should be told that they don't have to copy *everything* that Microsoft do.
This firmware has actually improved the PS3. At least this way we're spared the disappointment of seeing the actual in-game graphics compared to the pre-rendered lies you see at E3.
