Anyway if PS3 is not backwards compatible, there no reason to have a PS3.. simple, it's different with Xbox/360 because they're only just off the starting block and have'nt just wasted 10 years of back catalogue. Even so there's still only about 5%(at the most) good PS2 games and they're all made by 3rd parties lol.

When I think of a PS fan/PS3/Sony, that line from star wars springs to mind.. 'wipe them out.. ALL of them.'

Sony PS3 Sales figures look amazing...compared to sales figures for the original Xbox...

I run a GAME store, and while I can't say that the GBA is outselling PS3, the other figures are pretty much in the right order if you put 360 just above PSP.

We are STILL sitting on our original launch allocation, I have had 24 PS3's REFUNDED - either from moronic eBayer's trying to make a quick few quid or......well that's it really. Sony can claim they sold 165,000 (which I think is a LIE based on our sales figures) but even if they did - I had nearly a 25% return within 7 days on sales. It all is not looking rosy!

Add to that - PS3 has already been relocated to the back of all GAME stores (go and check!) due to "low margins and below-expectation-performance" In addition, I have already got 22 copies of Resistance and 19 copies of Motostorm in pre-owned stock, and last weeks big release Untold Legends, we sold a massive 1 COPY all fucking week. To gain some perspective, I sold more copies of Samurai Warriors 2 Empires on the 360.

Oh my fucking god Sony, please sort out this debacle that is PS3. It's far too shit, far too overpriced, and it collects far too much dust.

BUT, the PS3 boxes do have nice white handles which makes picking up 2 at a time easy. Great idea when we have to constanty keep moving them around the stockroom to make room for the twice-weekly influx and hysteria of Wii deliveries......

To add weight to what the guy above said, I noticed the big GAME store in Leeds has stuck the PS3 on the single unit of shelf space in the obscure corner of the shop it previously had reserved for the Gamecube. Right by the GBA games.

I went into both GAME stores in Basildon (heartland of PS3 demographic) shortly after the launch, neither of them even had a PS3 on display.

Should have gone to Ottakar's next door instead. Or the old Sega Park by the food court...

We sold a PS3 yesterday!! Guy bought the console, with Def Jam Icon and The Godfather. He wanted Need For Speed, but couldn't afford it. The guy was a proper chav - it was great to take his stinking scum money!

He nearly didn't buy it - he only bought it because he didn't believe us when we told him that GTA 4 was coming out on the 360 on the same day as PS3. He also bought it in the vain hope that FIFA 2008 will be out on PS3 in September. I tried to tell him it was 360-only but he was a twat so I didn't try very hard.

Maybe that's the PS3's problem? I hate football, but I still can't believe how well Pro Evo and FIFA sell. These are both 360 exclusives for 2007, and looking at the Sony launch schedule (such as it is), there are no football games in development for it. A chav console with no FIFA? Doomed to failure!

ALSO, what happened to exclusives? OK, Sony has Gran Turismo (a poor man's Forza!), it has SIngstar, which is great if you're a girl, and it has MGS (great - another 45 minute game tagged onto 273 hours of cut-scenes). Devil May Cry and GTA, which were always Sony biggies, are now simultaneous 360 titles, and add to that Halo 3, Gears Of War etc and the 360 is such a good proposition.

Still, ALL GAME stores have got Wii's in stock today - and that's better than anything.
