Yeah the unknown games bit I'm still getting to.
Well I say that, how many people knew that Mario 2 was remade for the Famicom Disk system but called Doki Doki Panic. Not many!

But I had to go on a little ego trip as I can post pictures of my OWN sega action chair for Mega drive!

I suppose it's only a matter of time before Sega bites the bullet and lets Nintendo put Sonic in their next "licensed character smash party" game. They'll make him the weakest character too, and probably put in a cutscene of him getting raped by Pikachu...

yes Doki Doki Panic was a rubbish game redressed as Mario 2 in the classic "money for old rope" scenario (you know, kind of like what EA has been doing for years).

That would also explain why it's an absolute sack of toss and bears absolutely no resemblance to the rest of the Mario series whatsoever.

To clear up the whole Doki Doki Panic thing, Nintendo wanted to release it in the West, but they knew it wouldn't sell, so instead, they replaced the cast with their Mario characters so that it had a chance. They also saw it as a way round the whole 'our Mario 2(lost levels) is too hard for the Americans.'

After its release in the west, Nintendo went back and released it in Japan 4 years later as Super Mario USA.
