This is easily Sony's most baffling and insulting statement yet. Here's Sony Europe's Ray Maguire spelling it out:
"One thing is common amongst the entire market for consumer electronics and that is that there are early adopters like myself who will spend GBP 10,000 on a plasma TV that is worth GBP 3000 within three years. That's the way the market goes. What do they get for that? They get six months of enjoyment of the product before anybody else gets that ability to play those games." - Ray Maguire , Sony Europe, last week.
ADDITIONAL RAY QUOTES OF WONDERMENT:
"We've been doing some research for the last few months" - WE'VE BEEN LOOKING AT THE INTERNET AND SALES FIGURES IN ABJECT HORROR. NO ONE TAKES A ROOM OFF YOUR HOUSE ONCE YOU'VE AGREED TO BUY IT.

No Ray, no you haven't - because looking at a spreadsheet of sales figures is not "research".
Maybe if Sony had done some some research to see what customers actually wanted - and then followed up with those conclusions in mind - they wouldn't be in this mess.
Hint: It involved a sensibly priced games console with a decent range of games - and not an overpriced, long delayed, Blu Ray encumbered lemon.
But, we told you so.
I just watched the trailer for Tekken 6 on YouTube and it looks exactly like Tekken 5, except you need a PS3 -- and thus, presumably, some sort of intercept boat and a remortgage -- to play it. I'm sure there will be awesome new gameplay elements (perhaps Heihachi Mishima will flick his tufts when he wins, and Ganryu will adjust the two Snickers bars in his thong), but it's really not substantially different to the game I bought 12 years go and have since played about twice.
If this is all PS3 owners have to get excited about, it's no surprise Sony's in the poo.

I didn't know about that site. I just went there, and it's like this site, only in the U.S., and gay for Mario. Overall I rate it a 7 out of 10. Sure they have better teeth than you guys, but then, they're from the U.S., so chances are their parents and their siblings are the same people. I'm going to start a Canadian Resistance site. It'll have all the praise that is properly due to the glorious Queen, no inbreeding, and, most importantly, curling.
