UK:RESISTANCE 'main page'
A keen reader who was actually *watching* Games Night noticed something strange. Something odd. Something INEXPLICABLE. The cast and very special guests (sorry, Adam) changed their socks during an advert break.

Yes. They changed their socks during an advert break. Perhaps there was a verruca outbreak?

Games Night sock scandal?

"Having tuned in to the 30th episode of Games Night and been almost comatose by the topics of debate, my attention drifted to the all white socks lined up. Suddenly after a break the socks were swapped! Now, if they had swapped the topics or the dreary presenters... but no, let's swap socks. Just plain weirdness. Could it have been your previous "Wii Family Sock" article that has spurred a national trend?"

Games Night sock scandal?

"PS: Sorry for being such an anal twat about this but at least taking the pics removed me from viewing the Games Night slow motion car crash. Please feel free to ridicule me and my photos in an amusing and sarcastic way - Pez."

Well, those white socks are rather DISTRACTING and UNPROFESSIONAL. I suspect the Director had a word. Or perhaps he just wanted to freak out anyone who happened to be smoking pot in order to cope with the pain of watching.

Maybe the presenters are being held in the studio against their will and they are using their socks to signal in Morse code!

It could be a desperate cry for help before they are forced to play Rock Band again with that crazy woman.

Clearly they're all paying tribute to David Jenkins, the white-socked games writer for Teletext (would not, btw).

Perhaps somebody had smelly feet and asking everybody to change their socks was a tactful method to eradicate the whiff without hurting anybody's feelings.

Being serious though - we have a cheap digibox at our flat and whenever there's too much white on our telly it makes a discordant buzzing sound so perhaps it's linked to that. The abundance of white might have been causing too much light on the lens/ a blurring effect or something but that seems like something of a long shot. The socks may have brought about a similarly distracting and unsightly illusion to that known as 'strobing' which occurs when a presenter's shirt/tie features stripes within too close a proximity and the camera creates a sort of ripple effect. Have I thought about it too much?

Adam Doree says the reason for the sock-change is revealed in the full episode. It's available to watch on their web site here.

But I can't get more than 3 minutes in before having to stop for medical reasons.

My God! they were actually playing a visual game with us "the viewers" in part three of the show. The white sock shock trick was planned for some kind of weird x-league competition! Is there no sanity left in the games world? Why not put as much effort into making the show interesting instead? Bring back Gamesmaster for christs sake! Dominic we need you!SOS SOS (save our socks)
