THE 1995 SEGA SCHOOLS MARKETING PROJECT
Sorry about all those exclamation marks, but this discovery is very nearly worth it:
Finally, an excuse to use the term "marketing mix" on the site.
Part Two of the film SEGA created to brainwash the children of 1995 and turn them into a generation of adults that would only buy SEGA hardware. Sadly this initiative failed, so it's back to War Men: Aliens Versus Earth :(
FROM THE FINDER'S MOUTH:
"Found two links on YouTube showing how SEGA sold the various items relating to its brand back when they knew how to do it. The voice-over seems to be done by Andy Crane and on part two there's a clip of Right Said Fred singing their number 55 hit 'Wonderman' which isn't exactly the best example of cross-promotion branding (though it would be considered brilliant by their inept marketing department a few years later). Shame they lost this tape when the Dreamcast came out - Peter Bibbings."

Oh it's easy to pick on War Men: Aliens Versus Earth, but I notice you don't mention the far superior sequel War Men II: Fighting in Space.
About that radio competition at the end, why was the prize a Master System?
I mean Sega had just released the Mega CD, the 32X is on it's way, not to mention the Saturn a few months after that and it's giving away Master Systems???
At least the girl sounded happy. Might have been the Sonic CD music in the background.
I miss the 90s :(
Almost too sad to watch...
WOW !!...Cheers for this post.Memories indeed!
Those were the F***in days !!
Now....Wheres that DeLorean...need to get back to the 90s quick time !!
SEGA RULES !!
A huge lump of my childhood summed up in two videos. Put me down as one of the brainwashed! So much stuff there I haven't seen since back then, such as the Sonic ketchup and crisps!
What happened to Andy Crane? Did he move into a house with Domenic Diamond only to fall out with him when Domenic betrayed the world by writing for The Sun? Then he moved into the local rec and slept on a bench for five years until Andy Peters spotted him whilst walking his minature Pincher and secluded him in the old CBBC closet with a hammock and some spam?
Im guessing thats the first Andy Crane fantasy writing we've had.
In a couple of weeks.
Damn yeah, heh, I remember that buzz word as well..Marketing mix! ..good times!
I think we've just stumbled on the other occasion at which men are allowed to cry.
