The thing is, it costs Sony $336.27 to make a PS3. If you buy one, Sony lose $37. If you don’t buy one, Sony lose $336.27 (or £206.84 in the Queen’s money). So you’re far better off not buying one and using the money on Punternet. £200 is enough for a couple of hours, although I think 5 minutes is plenty.

Oh I know you didn’t say expensive=best, that’s all the other ps3 owners I know. I’m just lumping you in with all of them as, well, that’s what you do with collaborators, don’t you?

And you have a media centre pc too so I completely fail to see the point of ps3 ownership in your case. If I owned one my my only defence would be was that it was an attempt to stop everyone inthe office wittering on about bloody killzone 2 all the frigging time. A poor defence admittedly, but fortunately also an irrelevant one that I don’t have to rely on, as I am not harbouring a ps3 in my home.

Yo, buying a PS3 hurts Sony, that was the thrust of my post. I’m not having a pop or trying to convert anyone, God forbid!

Giger, no one said the most expensive was best, except you! (I also have a media center PC if that helps?)

In a rush to jump down my throat, logic and reading previous posts clearly had to be abandoned. You are both forgiven.

I’m confused now. PS3 = Most expensivest console currently available that can do the most stuff and is therefore the best. QED, obviously?

And yet, having a media centre pc that’s (slightly) more expensive but is a full pc, that’s sheer folly and madness? I’d much rather put my money towards having a fully fledged media centre that I can do exactly what I want with – I can upgrade it however and whenever I like too, like when the next vcd/dvd/blu-ray replacement turns up for example.

Oh, and you’ve hardly ‘outed’ yourself as a PS3 owner when you’re sat there lurking behind the name ‘Anonymous’, have you?

The Dreamcast was the first console with a web browser wasn’t it? And the Saturn had a VCD addon. You know any console made by Sega would be sullied to the max with extra guff.

And no, you cannot get HD stuff on a PC costing the same as a PS3… hence Sony losing money :)

I wouldn’t say Blu Ray has changed my life, but the PS3 also steams low-def downloads from http://eztv.it via my media server, which is actually more convenient than watching normal telly.

Anyone passing up a hoverboard is clearly mad.
